The DesignOps Global Conference is for design leaders, researchers, developers, practitioners, product managers, service innovators and business leaders that are defining the way we design and develop new products and services.

As the event producer and co-ordinator I have the privilege of working with peers in the digital design industry to stage the event. This year, due to the COVID19 Pandemic we pivoted the event to be a live streamed conference. The feedback we had was amazing and overall we produced a very slick and professional event in very demanding and trying circumstances.

DesignOps and the ‘Ops’ Enterprise – Changing Cultures & Developing Practices

How can ‘Ops’ principles enhance the way people in organisations and enterprises work together to deliver better products, services, experiences and outcomes. How do organisations adopt Ops practices and scale design? How does Ops support better internal work flows, facilitate agile ways of working, increase adaptability and streamline processes? How does ‘Ops’ help organisations develop relevant and disruptive products, better services and customer offerings within more complex digital ecosystems?

Closing the Loop – From ResOps to DesignOps to DevOps

How does DesignOps help teams connect, co-create and contribute to product and service innovation and deliver value and enhance end-user experiences. What type of practices and principles we need to adopt to support innovation. How do the different guilds of  ResearchOps, DesignOps, DevOps and StudioOps support people, teams and the organisation to work together? How do we close the loop between Strategy, Research, Design and Development

Service Design, Digital Transformation and Ops

How do we deliver digital transformation within different types of organisations within the private and public sector? How do we adapt and adopt ‘Ops’ as we change the ways we work and shift cultures and constituencies? What are the design methods, processes, mechanics, roles and new competencies we need to learn, understand and adopt to ensure teams are delivering change in organisations and  creating experiences that users expect? How does ops support creativity to deliver better design to and build brand equity, experience equity and service equity?

The Future of Design & Ops – AI in Design

How do we deliver better customer experiences (CX) through better design practices, adaptable and scaleable design systems while improving design standards? How do we support flow with optimised toolchains and smarter software? What are the trends shaping visual and interaction design? How is ‘natural interface’ such as conversational interaction and intelligent bots changing how we need to think, the practices we use and skills we need? How is AI shaping research and changing the way we work? What is the future of UX, UI and the tools we use?

Next year’s event will take place in Manchester in May 2021.
